RALEIGH, N.C. – The Campbell Law Review will host a symposium on intellectual property this Friday, March 16, featuring 13 leading scholars and practitioners from around the country. The symposium, “The New Global Convergence: Intellectual Property, Increasing Prosperity, and Economic Networks in the Twenty-First Century,” is designed to address and solve issues related to intellectual property that arise in a globalized society.
The symposium, which is slated to begin at 9 a.m., will also serve as a continuing legal education (CLE) event for attending participants. There is no cost to attend, and online registration is available at the following link: http://law.campbell.edu/lawreview/symposium.cfm.
“Our economy continues to become predicated on technology and innovation,” said Campbell Law Review Editor-in-Chief Michael Crook. “It is our hope that this symposium will help members of the legal community successfully identify and resolve intellectual property issues that arise from globalization.”
Opening remarks from Campbell Law Dean Melissa Essary, Crook, and Campbell Law Professor Lucas Osborn will begin the symposium, followed by morning presentations and a panel discussion. United States Patent & Trademark Office Chief Economist Dr. Stuart Graham will deliver the keynote address over lunch, followed by afternoon presentations and discussions. Five leading practitioners will take part in a special practitioner panel discussion prior to closing remarks and a reception.
