Raleigh, N.C. – Campbell Law School will host an Admitted Students Day on Saturday, March 21 in downtown Raleigh for more than 130 members of the class of 2012 – the first class of law students who will spend all three years at the Law School’s Raleigh location. Nearly 25 of the expected attendees are coming from beyond the borders of North Carolina.
The Admitted Students event, which will be held at the Cardinal Club in downtown Raleigh, will offer an overview of student life through multiple sessions, including: a mock law class, panels of Campbell Law alumni and current students who will discuss their experiences, and tours of downtown and the new Law School building.
Raleigh City Councilman Philip Isley will deliver a keynote address during lunch, and David Diaz, president and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, will also offer a short presentation about living and working in Raleigh. When Campbell Law opens in the fall, it will immediately inject more than 400 students, faculty and staff into a vibrant downtown community.
“As excitement for Campbell Law’s move to Raleigh continues to build, we wanted to give members of our fall 2009 entering class an opportunity to become better acquainted with student life and, specifically, the city they will call home for the next three years,” said Dean Melissa Essary. “We are especially excited that so many students from outside of North Carolina are attending. There is a positive buzz about Campbell Law throughout the East Coast.”
Campbell Law’s new home at 225 Hillsborough Street is scheduled to open in September 2009.
