RALEIGH – Campbell Law School students, faculty and North Carolina judges visited Nottingham Law School in England over spring break as part of a unique collaboration between Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and the law school.

The program, which began in 2017, provides an opportunity for Campbell Law students to develop high-level research and writing skills through the completion of an LL.M. in International Legal Studies that they can complete alongside their JD degree. Enrolled students utilize Nottingham’s robust online resources and travel Nottingham to meet face-to-face with faculty and fellow students. This degree offering is also available for judges and practicing attorneys.

“I love this program,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard upon returning. “When we go to Nottingham, each student takes a half hour to talk about their research topics, which are all fascinating. It is a program I am really proud of.”

This year, second-year law students Katelyn Gallimore, Erica Howard, Brenden Silverman, Kathryn Greene, Taylor West and Casey Bouker joined Leonard and Associate Law Library Director and Head of Research Services Caitlin Swift, who also teaches Campbell’s portion of the LL.M. program.

Also traveling to participate in the program this year were the Honorable Judge Alyson Grine, Resident Superior Court Judge for Orange and Chatham counties, the Honorable Judge Matthew Houston, Business Court Judge in Raleigh, and the Honorable Judge Warren McSweeney ‘91, Superior Court Judge for Moore and Hoke counties.
