RALEIGH, N.C. – Pinwheels adorn the exterior grounds of Campbell Law as the school participates in Prevent Child Abuse America’s (PCAA) Pinwheels for Prevention. A national event, Pinwheels for Prevention raises awareness to the harm that children can receive due to abuse, neglect, domestic violence, household substance abuse and other trauma.
The pinwheel is the symbol of child abuse prevention, representing community efforts to aid all children in enjoying safe, healthy childhoods and bright futures.
“Campbell Law is honored to participate in this meaningful campaign,” said Campbell Law Assistant Dean Zeke Bridges, who serves with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina (PCANC). “Pinwheels for Prevention goes hand-in-hand with the values of service and compassion that we instill in our students each day at Campbell Law, and we are glad to help raise awareness to the issues that some children right in our own backyard may be facing.”
PCANC was founded in 1979 and operates a wide assortment of family-strengthening programs throughout more than 250 organizations in the state.
Pinwheels for Prevention initially began as a grassroots campaign in several PCAA state chapters, eventually expanding nationally as a result of its enormous success. In large part due to the campaign, the pinwheel was adopted as the national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention in 2008.
