Campbell Law to celebrate 40th year, honor Professor Currin at annual reunion

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School’s first class enrolled in the fall of 1976, and in the 40 years since the institution and its graduates have become leaders in legal education and the practice of law.

Campbell Law will honor its past, present and future with a daylong celebration on Friday, Oct. 14 with a CLE in the morning and a reunion celebration in the evening. All Campbell Law alums are invited and encouraged to attend as we honor former professor and 1976 charter class graduate Margaret Currin, and welcome back beloved professors Dr. Stanley McQuade, Rick Lord and Charlie Lewis among others at the reunion.

Members of the Campbell Law Alumni Association can attend all reunion events at no cost. Click here to join the alumni association online.

“We are excited to celebrate 40 incredible years with a full day of activities,” said Campbell Law Assistant Dean of External Relations Megan West Sherron. “We are fortunate to have so many esteemed alums serving on the bench that are willing to engage and work with us to provide this beneficial CLE, and we can’t wait to welcome back many of our most iconic figures in the evening as we host our annual reunion celebration.”

Reunion events will begin 8 a.m. with Campbell Judges Speak, a CLE taught exclusively by judges that are Campbell Law graduates. The North Carolina State Bar has approved six hours of CLE credit for attendees, including five general hours and one ethics hour. Topics include N.C. court operations, trial and post-trial mistakes, jury selection, unmet legal needs and unemployed lawyers, managing the media in civil litigation and legal ethics.

Register online for Campbell Judges Speak at this link. Admission for non-alumni association members is $125 for all day, and $75 for half-day.

Following the CLE, the law school will hold its annual reunion at the nearby N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences at 121 West Jones Street in downtown Raleigh beginning at 7 p.m. The reunion is open to all Campbell Law classes. Admission for non-alumni association members and guests is $50 per person. Online registration is available here.
