Campbell Law to establish alumni association

RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that the law school will establish a formal alumni association in 2015. With more than 3,650 alumni practicing law in 44 states and six countries, Campbell Law graduated its first class in 1979.

“For 35 years now, we have produced outstanding graduates who excel on the bar exam and within the legal profession,” said Leonard. “The time has come for Campbell Law to form an official alumni association. There is enormous enthusiasm among our loyal alumni for this type of group, and I know that it will benefit the entire Campbell Law community.”

Research for establishing the alumni association began more than two years ago, with the formal process kicking off last month when the law school hosted an alumni roundtable. Roundtable participants discussed the importance of establishing the Association and brainstorming actionable items for putting it in place. Campbell Law Assistant Dean of External Relations Megan West is leading the process.

“Campbell Law alumni are passionate about this place,” said West. “The relationships formed throughout law school, personal and professional, are a vital part of the experience. The Campbell Law Alumni Association will work to maintain and reinforce those relationships.”

Campbell Law is currently soliciting alumni volunteers to serve as members of the first Association Board of Directors. The initial Board, consisting of nine members across the entire alumni network, will be appointed by Leonard to manage the Association. Subsequent Board members will be elected by the Association.

Any Campbell Law alums interested in serving on the initial Board are encouraged to contact Ali Trinkle at trinkle@campbell.edu or 919-865-4652 by December 31.
