RALEIGH – Campbell Law School will host a continuing legal education (CLE) program entitled “A View From the Bench,” sponsored by the Federal Bar Association (FBA)’s Eastern District of North Carolina (EDNC) Chapter on Friday, Feb. 23.
The program, includes lunch, will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. The 4.5-hour CLE credit course will be offered free for FBA members, state and federal government attorneys, law clerks, Campbell Law students and faculty/staff. The cost is $50 for non-members. Cash/Venmo will be accepted at the event, organizers said.
The CLE will cover:
- Motions practice preferences, appearing before the Court, trial practice, local rules and standing orders, and professionalism;
- Tips for appearing before the magistrate judges, pretrial procedures, managing discovery disputes;
- Best practices for use of technology in the courtroom.
Paid parking is available in the city of Raleigh Municipal Parking Deck across from the law school on West Morgan Street.
The CLE will feature several panels including one made up of U.S. District Court judges, one made up of U.S. Magistrate judges and one on technology.

The moderator will lead a panel discussion about attorney advocacy from the perspective of the district court judges, who will provide insight into effective ways to represent clients in the Eastern District of North Carolina and more broadly.
