RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School will host the 21st Annual North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) High School Mock Trial State Championship, March 1-2. Eight regional champions from around the state will compete for the state title, as well as the opportunity to represent North Carolina at the National High School Mock Trial Competition in Indianapolis, Ind., in May.
Competition rounds will begin on Saturday, March 2, at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., with award presentations slated for 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Regional champions participating in the competition include:
* Asheville Champion (T. C. Roberson)
* Charlotte Champion (Hendersonville)
* Fayetteville Champion (Village Christian Academy)
* Greenville Champion (J. H. Rose)
* High Point Champion (Gaston Christian)
* Hillsborough Champion (Central Carolina Homeschoolers)
* Raleigh Champion (Raleigh Charter)
* Wilmington Champion (Isaac Bear Early College)
Each team will compete in at least two rounds of competition, arguing one time each for the plaintiff and the defense with the top two teams advancing to the finals. The civil case for this year’s competition deals with the fallout from sports-related concussions.
