RALEIGH – Campbell Law School has been the proud host of the North Carolina State High School Mock Trial Regional Competition since moving to Raleigh in 2009.

This year’s day-long regional competition, which is also sponsored by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, will be held at the law school on Saturday, Feb. 8, with some 250 high school students, coaches, judges and parents attending.

The event is in need of volunteers, even if it is just for a few hours, says organizer Rachel Boos.

The volunteer invitation is extended to anyone who knows a high school student who may need volunteer hours for any organization, ie. National Honor Society.

The North Carolina Mock Trial Program thanks paralegals and paralegal students for supporting this educational program by serving as site volunteers during the competition but more volunteers are needed. Volunteer activities include set up, registration, welcoming the teams, providing information to observers, serving as room monitors, helping with tabulation of results, helping with the award ceremony and more.

If you or someone you know is interested in assisting on Saturday, please fill out this form at this link, email admin@ncmocktrial.org or contact Boos at 919-607-1613.

The winners of the regional competitions will return to Campbell Law School for the State Finals Competition on March 14-15, when volunteers are also needed. Site volunteers are needed to help with set-up, registration of teams, staffing the information desk, serving as courtroom liaisons, helping with ballot administration, preparing for the awards ceremony, and clean-up. We ask that certain volunteer participants use a laptop or desktop (not a mobile device or chrome book). To volunteer, please visit this link.
