RALEIGH — In a display of bipartisanship, the Campbell Law Republicans and Campbell Law Democrats will host a Wake County District Attorney Candidate Forum on Tuesday, April 1. Area residents are invited to join the Campbell Law community at the forum, which will begin at 6 p.m. in room 105 at the law school.
The candidates running for Wake County District Attorney include John Walter Bryant, Jeff Cruden, Lorrin Freeman, Jefferson Griffin, Terry Swaim and Boz Zellinger. All candidates have been extended invitations to participate in the forum.
“We are excited that these two active and engaged student groups have come together to organize and host this forum,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “This is a significant election for the citizens of Wake County, and Campbell Law is proud to provide a platform for all of our neighbors to hear from the candidates and form their own opinions.”
The forum will operate in a question-and-answer format, with two moderators posing questions to the group. Bradley Trahan and Jeffrey Cox, both Campbell Law third-year students, will serve as moderators.
The election comes on the heels of the announcement by current Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby, a 1979 Campbell Law charter class graduate, that he will not seek reelection. Willoughby, who was honored with the Iredell award by Campbell Law’s Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity earlier this month, will resign from office effective March 31.
