RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School is partnering with The Child’s Advocate to host a training session for private attorneys on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at the law school. At the training session, co-hosted by Legal Aid of North Carolina, potential pro bono attorneys who want to learn how to represent children in a custody case will receive thorough training and skill implementation.
Campbell Law students routinely engage with The Child’s Advocate as a part of the institution’s pro bono efforts, assisting pro bono attorneys in representing children in high conflict custody cases.
“We are happy to co-host this training session in an effort to assist The Child’s Advocate,” said Campbell Law Director of Student Life & Pro Bono Opportunities Beth Froehling. “It is our hope that this training will result in more practitioners in our community becoming better equipped to assist in these serious, sometimes overlooked, legal matters that can have serious consequences for young, defenseless children.”
The Child’s Advocate is a partnership between attorneys and mental health professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive and competent legal representation to children in court actions that affect their lives and relationships.
