New Campbell law students took the Professional Oath Wednesday
RALEIGH — Campbell Law ushered in 186 new students with the beginning of its first-year orientation activities on Wednesday, Aug. 13, marking the second-largest incoming class in the history of the law school. The students — 168 traditional students and 18 studying as a part of the Campbell Flex program — represent 73 different undergraduate institutions and 43 majors.
The number of incoming students is a sharp incline from last year, which saw 121 new students on the first day of orientation.
“We are excited to welcome this accomplished and promising class,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “These students are joining our law school family, and our entire faculty and staff is committed to doing everything we possibly can to ensure their success over the next three years and thereafter.”
Campbell Law’s new students began orientation by taking the Professionalism Oath. In addition to customary instructional meetings with faculty and staff, new students will participate in a six-site community service project, enjoy a social gathering at Dean Leonard’s, and tour all of the local, state, and federal courts in downtown Raleigh throughout the remainder of orientation.
