BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Hosting its biggest event of the spring semester and competiting against five other programs, the Campbell University PGA Golf Management program rose to the occasion to collect first and second place at the 2015 Carolinas Cup. Campbell’s White team beat out seven other squads, shooting a two-day total of 747 for a 23-stroke victory, while the Orange team placed second with a 770. Campbell sophomore Brian Jones of North Chesterfield, Va. took medalist honors with scores of 74-68 — 142 score.

“Playing well is an important aspect in the career of a successful PGA professional,” said Campbell PGA Golf Management Program Director Ken Jones. “We're Campbell Proud of their accomplishments on the course, but we are equally impressed with how our student professionals conducted the event. Campbell junior Corey Layton is commended on leading his team of student volunteers in the fine effort.”

This past November Campbell collected the PGA Jones Cup, becoming the first program to win the title four times.

“Our entire university community is proud of this program,” said Campbell Business Dean Keith Faulkner. “Not only have they enjoyed a banner year competitively, but they are incredible representatives of this university and our community. This innovative program is a difference maker, and this just solidifies our belief in it.”

Campbell won the Carolinas Cup three consecutive years from 2009-11. Eight–man teams from Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, Methodist University, NC State University, and the University of Maryland – Eastern Shore rounded out the field for the event held this year at Keith Hills Golf Club. Keith Hills is owned by Campbell University and managed by the faculty, staff, and students of the PGA Golf Management Program.
