Many areas of this diverse industry were represented including retail pharmacy, independent pharmacy, clinical research, consulting, contract research and a specialty oncology pharmacy. The demand for pharmacists is high with a national shortage of 157,000 pharmacists predicted for 2020, according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. North Carolina is one of the states with the largest shortage of pharmacists at present. The Pharmacy Manpower Project, which measures the supply and demand for pharmacists across the country, places only Alabama behind North Carolina in terms of need.Career Day provides the opportunity for employers to make lasting impressions on students, attracting them for future employment and addressing the demand for pharmacists. For students, the day is a time to learn more about their profession, make internship contacts and discover the routes they may take after graduation from Campbell.
