The Campbell University Delta Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda showed the state it means business through the students’ excellent participation in the North Carolina Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference. Phi Beta Lambda is a national business club, the college and professional affiliate of Future Business Leaders of America. Four students from the School of Business competed in 39 events with students from all over North Carolina, placing in the top ten. During the conference, they were showcasing their knowledge of business principles and their ability to solve practical business problems. David Edwards, a junior from Asheboro, N.C., and the president of the Campbell chapter, and Zach McLawhorn, a senior from Bunn Level, N.C., won first place honors in Business Communication and International Business. William Warren, a sophomore from Asheville, N.C., earned fourth place honors in Business Law and seventh place in Hospitality Management. In addition, Hannah Wilson, a junior from Asheboro, N.C., placed fourth in the Statistical Analysis competition. They will represent the university this summer at the national competition in Nashville, N.C. “The Campbell chapter’s performance at the state conference was particularly impressive given that we are so new,” said Dr. Edward Fubara, assistant professor of business and advisor to the club. “This is the first year that Phi Beta Lambda has been active on Campbell’s campus in over two decades, yet every single entrant from this fledgling organization was honored to place in the top eight in a statewide competition.”Photo Copy: Campbell students take honors at the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference.
