Campbell students visit Raleigh insearch of Civil War history

Several Campbell University students, members of a course on the Civil War, took a field trip to Raleigh in search of artifacts, architecture and history of the Civil War. They were accompanied by Dr. Rorin Platt, associate professor of history, and Dr. Ronnie Faulkner, director of Library Services and associate professor of history. The students visited the North Carolina Museum of History’s Civil War component, “Call to Arms;” the North Carolina State Capital building, one of the finest and best preserved examples of a major civic building in the Greek Revival School of architecture and a national historic landmark; and the office of Governor Mike Easley.
