Campbell to adopt Enrollment Management model

Buies Creek — Over three thousand undergraduate students were enrolled at Campbell University’s main campus this fall semester, a record for the Buies Creek institution.  As the campus continues to grow and plan for the future, the need for managing student enrollment is great.

Enrollment management involves implementing well-planned strategies and tactics for the recruiting, retention and success of students within higher education.

Several staffing changes will be made to facilitate the new model.

Dr. Roberson will assume the responsibility of Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. Dr. Roberson conducted his doctoral studies in Higher Education Administration and his dissertation was centered on college choice and enrollment management issues.

“I am confident he brings the knowledge base and leadership skills to guide us in this transition,” said Dr. Jerry Wallace, president of Campbell University.

Jason Hall will take on the role of Assistant Vice President for Admission.  As a Campbell University alumnus (BBA and MBA), Jason previously served as the Director of Planned Giving.

Haven Hottel, Director of Communication and Publications, will give leadership to the University’s Web Administration and PhotoGraphics departments. Haven is also a Campbell alumna.

The proposed changes come with news of the impending retirement of Herb Kerner, Dean of Admission, Financial Aid and Veteran’s Affairs, effective Oct. 31.

“For more than two and one-half decades, Dean Kerner has successfully recruited more and better students,” said Dr. Wallace.  “As he enters retirement, let us ‘tip our hats’ to him and his good work.”
