Buies Creek, N.C.–Campbell University is set to break ground on a $6.8 million chapel on Wednesday, Mar. 12, at 2 p.m. on the Academic Circle adjacent to Taylor Hall. The chapel will serve the needs of the entire student body as well as the unique educational needs of the Divinity School. The 300-seat sanctuary will also provide a place for worship, prayer and special events for the community. Featured in the chapel’s traditional design are a bell tower, prayer room, stained glass windows and a reflecting pool. A pipe organ will be integrated into the interior wood details of the sanctuary. The chapel is named for the late Robert and Anna Butler.”Butler Chapel will be the capstone of the university,” said President Jerry M. Wallace, “a permanent statement to all of this university’s unashamed commitment to Christ and to the mission of Christian higher education.”
