Statement from Campbell President J. Bradley Creed on the death of student Ezra Goldbach
Our campus community has suffered a tragedy with the death of one of our students. This morning, Campbell University grieves the death of Ezra Goldbach. Join me in remembering and praying for his family and those closest to him. Ezra was a first-year student in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business studying in the Professional Golf Management program and was from Pinnacle in Stokes County, North Carolina.
The news of a sudden and tragic death in a close knit community is difficult for all of us to bear, especially for those closest to the one who dies. It is important to acknowledge grief and express feelings of sadness. Counselors and others on our campus are available to assist and support the Campbell community during this trying time. In the next few days we will come together in Butler Chapel to remember Ezra and his life. Details will be available soon.
Our Campus Safety personnel and the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate to determine the facts. In the meantime, let us refrain from conjecture or judgment. Instead let us invest those thoughts in prayerful support for those who mourn.
With a heavy heart,
J. Bradley Creed
President
