Campbell turns in outstanding performance at national leadership conference

Atlanta, Ga.—Members of Campbell University’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter participated in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA-PBL) national Leadership in Action Conference in Atlanta, Ga. June 21-24. The 11-member team delivered outstanding performances in 10 events, including a first place win by graduate Marsha McKoy, of Dudley, N.C., in Impromptu Speaking and a fifth place victory in the Financial Services competition by team members Christina Dell’Aquila, of Southport, N.C.; Dexter Dodd, Reidsville, N.C.; and Zach McLawhorn, of Benson, N.C.Other competitions included Computer Concepts, Cyber Security, Marketing Concepts, Employee Training and Development, Health Care Management and Entrepreneurship.“I was very proud of each and every one of our students,” said Jennifer Zielinsky, PBL co-advisor and assistant director of Graduate Programs at Campbell’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. “It is a tough competition between some of the best students in the nation.”Phi Beta Lambda is the post-secondary organization of Future Business Leaders of America, the largest business career student organization in the world. The goals of the FBLA-PBL program are to develop competent, aggressive business leadership, create interest and understanding of American business enterprise and assist students in the establishment of occupational goals, among others. The national organization sponsors several competitive events and programs in a broad range of business and career-related areas. Through state-based competitions, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for honors at the National Leadership Conference each summer.The Campbell team was composed of students majoring in a broad range of business studies, from Computer Information Systems to Trust Management, as well as one International Government major and one Mass Communication major.
