(Durham, N.C.) – Campbell University and Durham Technical Community College announced a new partnership that will streamline the process for Durham Tech associate degree graduates to transfer into Campbell University bachelor degree programs. Dr. Jerry Wallace, president of Campbell University, and Dr. Bill Ingram, president of Durham Tech, signed the agreement on Thursday, March 3 at 10 a.m. on Durham Tech’s Main Campus.
The new partnership, the Campbell-Durham Tech Transfer Opportunity Program, or TOP, will expand educational opportunities for community college students. Components of the TOP agreement include:
If a Durham Tech student completes an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree program with a GPA of 2.0 or greater, Campbell University will guarantee admission and seamless acceptance into the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Business Administration degree programs. This is in accordance with the NC Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA).
· Campbell will waive the application fee for Durham Tech graduates who meet the requirements for admission.
· Durham Tech students will be allowed to take courses at Campbell University toward the completion of their associate’s degree. (Students will be responsible for the tuition and fees for the Campbell University courses.)
· Durham Tech graduates will be eligible to participate in the full range of academic programs and honors programs at Campbell University’s main campus in Buies Creek.
