Campbell University Choral Society to present Christmas concert

The Campbell University Choral Society will present a Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Rogers Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.Featuring works by composers John Rutter and Gustav Holst, the program is a panorama of music for the season. Rutter’s “Gloria” is a resounding three-movement work for choir, brass, organ and percussion and Holst’s “Christmas Day” is a fantasia of carols and anthems.Special music is performed by a solo-quartet featuring Susan Morrow of Angier, Teresa Aiken of Erwin, Burke Dickens of Fuquay-Varina, and Greg Honeycutt of Benson.”I am delighted for the Choral Society to present this beautiful and exciting music on the first Sunday in Advent 2006,” said Dr. Phillip J. Morrow, conductor. “We have a dedicated and talented group and the opportunity to share a Christmas program of well-crafted music is always exciting and special. We extend a warm invitation to all.”Morrow added that the audience will also be in for a treat as they get the chance to sing along with the performers.The Campbell University Choral Society is comprised of students, faculty and members of the community.
