Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences HOSA Club Advisor Monica Fanjoy has been appointed to the North Carolina HOSA Board of Directors as the Postsecondary, Collegiate and Middle School Representative.

The Campbell University HOSA Club is a collegiate-level student organization affiliated with HOSA–Future Health Professionals, focused on supporting students interested in healthcare careers. The Club brings together students from across the University and provides opportunities to develop leadership, clinical knowledge, and professional skills through workshops, HOSA competitions, and community service. The club also promotes health education while preparing members for future roles in the health sciences.

In her role as the Science Education Outreach Coordinator in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Fanjoy works tirelessly to introduce students to the healthcare professions. Through partnerships with teachers and advisors across North Carolina, she brings students to CPHS for hands on learning experiences while also taking STEM and health sciences programming directly into schools and communities.

She was recognized as a CPHS Orange Pen Award recipient in 2025, an honor presented to faculty and staff who embody the Campbell spirit by mentoring others, recognizing needs and stepping up to meet them. The award recognizes individuals who consistently go above and beyond in service to the College and to those around them.

In her role, Fanjoy coordinates CPHS Discovery Days, which welcome students to campus to explore careers in healthcare through interactive activities with faculty, staff and students. She also coordinates the Biotechnology, Inquiry, Outreach, and STEM2 (BIOS2) program, providing immersive STEM experiences for high school students interested in science, biotechnology and healthcare careers.

Her appointment to the HOSA Board creates new opportunities to connect Campbell University with nearly 10,000 students across North Carolina who are exploring careers in healthcare.

“Monica is one of our strongest advocates for science education and for the opportunities available through Campbell University,” said Dr. Charles Carter, chair of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences. “She brings incredible energy, drive and passion to everything she does. Her love for education, her dedication to our students and her commitment to the University are evident in every program she leads. This appointment is a reflection of the impact she has made across North Carolina and the countless students she has inspired.”

Fanjoy’s passion for STEM outreach is backed by a diverse professional background in education, quality assurance, research and industry. Before joining Campbell, she spent more than a decade working in STEM education and outreach programs, including with one of the nation’s largest Science Olympiad programs. She also held quality assurance and research positions across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food science and life sciences industries.

She earned a Master of Life Science with a minor in Statistics and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from North Carolina State University.

Fanjoy said she is excited to support HOSA’s mission while helping more students discover opportunities within Campbell’s health sciences programs. “This role provides an exciting opportunity to support future healthcare professionals across North Carolina while strengthening awareness of the outstanding programs offered at Campbell University,” Fanjoy said. “I look forward to continuing to build connections with students and advisors and to helping them explore the many pathways available in healthcare and the sciences.”

Through her outreach efforts, campus programming and new leadership role with HOSA, Fanjoy continues to advance CPHS’ mission of educating future healthcare professionals and expanding access to STEM education across North Carolina.
