Campbell University Medical School Associate Dean Announces NCOMA Presidential Successor

Dr. Brian A. Kessler, DO FACOFP, is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Kessler served as president of the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA) for the 2014-2015 term, and he announces the board elected Erin Griffin, DO as the incoming president at the May meeting.
“Dr. Griffin is an energetic young leader who has great vision for the profession,” said Dr. Kessler.  “Many value Erin as a strong leader as she exemplifies all of the admirable qualities of an outstanding Osteopathic physician.  In addition to her wonderful personality, Erin is an excellent role model and will represent all with enthusiasm and commitment. She will continue to make positive contributions, and I look forward in seeing her as an outstanding leader of the profession.”
Dr. Griffin is a North Carolina native and previously served as NCOMA’s Membership Chair.  She received an undergraduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill, a Doctor of Osteopathy from Pikeville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY, and then returned to North Carolina to complete a residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  Currently, Dr. Griffin is in practice at Onslow Primary Care in Jacksonville, NC. 
NCOMA is the professional organization for osteopathic physicians in North Carolina.  Based in Fayetteville, the mission of the organization is to promote, advocate, maintain, and support the philosophy of Osteopathic Medicine for the benefit of the profession and the people of North Carolina.
“My mission this year is to increase the involvement of osteopathic physicians in NCOMA,” said Griffin.  “I hope to accomplish this by scheduling community events and possibly fundraisers such as 5Ks… It is an exciting time to be an osteopathic physician in our great state of North Carolina!”
