Students from Campbell University’s Communication Studies Capstone course presented a check to Harnett County Habitat for Humanity at a presentation held on Dec. 1 in Buies Creek. The students coordinated a fundraiser for the organization as part of their semester-long awareness campaign entitled “H.U.G.S.- Helping Us Grow Stronger.”
The students sold lights on Campbell’s Christmas tree and recognized donors at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting event held on Monday Nov. 16. Their goal was to raise $1000 for Harnett County Habitat for Humanity. The students exceeded their goal by a third and raised $1,338 in just 2 weeks.
Rev. Keith Goretzka, chair of the board of Harnett County Habitat for Humanity, accepted the check on behalf of the organization.
