Campbell Worker places second in business competition

Michael Savage, part- time web assistant at Campbell University, has placed second in the Hop on the Bus competition. This competition is an opportunity for North Carolina students (grades 9-12) to learn about entrepreneurship. A Harnett County High School senior, Savage goes to school in the day and works at Campbell with Jason Bray, Web Designer-Administrator, in the afternoon.”Michael is a young guy, but he has been very helpful in assisting me with managing and maintaining the Campbell website,” said Bray. “He walked in the door already knowing a lot about web design but is always looking to learn more. Having someone with his level of energy and efficiency is a great asset to both me and the University.”Savage is owner and operator of Spire Web Studios, a web design and hosting operation. He wants to provide affordable web design to local businesses. He submitted his business to the competition. After the first round of judging, the students sent in a video to pitch their company. Savage was honored at the 2008 North Carolina Entrepreneurship Summit and received a cash prize.North Carolina Web Design
