#CampbellFoundersWeek: A recap

What a week! Our inaugural Founders Week that is. Your participation in last week’s activities exceeded our hopes.

  • We were hoping for 100 gifts to support student scholarships; we ended up with 222 (and counting).
  • We were hoping for at least 750 posts on social media related to Founders Week; we got more than 1,500.
  • We were hoping to set new records for feature stories read on campbell.edu; our Tuesday feature on “How Campbell University began” alone became one of our most popular features ever in just three days.
  • And we were hoping for a decent crowd at the J.A. Campbell statue unveiling on a late Friday afternoon; we had more than 500 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends show up — plus WRAL-TV.

Thank you to everyone who made our first Founders Week a success; and thank you for joining us in our celebration of our founding president, J.A. Campbell, and the wonderful institution he established in 1887.

Enjoy the recap of this past week. May our next 128 years be just as bright and Campbell Proud-worthy.
