Campbell’s 23rd annual Trust Advisors Forum largest in history

PINEHURST, N.C. — The Campbell University Lundy-Fetterman School of Business and the Trust Education Foundation partnered to host the 23rd Annual Session of the Trust Advisors Forum in Pinehurst that began on Feb. 23 and runs through Feb. 26.

The forum drew 265 trust professionals, including several dozen Campbell alumni, who represent 100 financial institutions from 28 states. It’s the largest gathering in the forum’s 23-year history.

“The Trust Advisors Forum provides a great opportunity for trust professionals from across the country and industry to learn about changes in fiduciary and regulatory laws,” said Kristen Hoffman, manager of institutional trust administration at First Citizens Bank. “The forum provides networking opportunities to talk to leaders in the trust field.”

A highlight of the forum so far was Campbell University Day, which was held on Monday, Feb. 24, when more than 40 graduating seniors and Master of Trust and Wealth Management students attended the event and hosted a lunch for the trust professionals. Several of the students also interviewed for positions at major financial institutions from across the country.

“One of the primary goals of the forum is to provide networking and career placement opportunities for our students,” said Jimmy Witherspoon, director of the School of Business’ trust and wealth management program.

The forum began on Sunday, Feb. 23, with a reception, as well as talks by Patrick Alyward, 2014 chair of the Trust Education Foundation and vice president/general manager of CCH Trust Services, and Becky Kelly, executive director of the Trust Education Foundation and partner of the Fiduciary Education Center.

The event continued on Monday and Tuesday with sessions and panel discussions that focused on estate planning, management, regulatory updates, economics market outlook, fiduciary income taxation, investments and loans, among other topics. The forum concludes on Wednesday, Feb. 26, with additional panel discussions.

Over the years, proceeds from the event have funded more than $1 million in scholarship to support the School of Business’ undergraduate trust and wealth management program — the only one of its kind in the U.S.

@campbelledu @LundyFetterman We’re proud to support this program as we continue to build relationships with your bright students and alumni.
