Campbell’s Korean Student Association obtains grant

Campbell University’s Korean Student Association (KSA) recently obtained a grant of $2,000.”I could not even express how I felt when I found out our club was receiving the grant,” said Juyeon Kang, president of KSA. When Kang was working as intern at the Korean International Trade Association in Washington DC in 2006, she heard about the support program for the Korean Culture Festival at American universities. She applied last September, and the Korea Foundation, Korea International Trade Association and Korea Tourism Organization awarded the grant to the KSA club. The sponsors only select thirty colleges that will receive the grant.KSA is involved in promoting Korean culture and allowing opportunities for students to come together and participate in social activities and community events to diversify their education.”As the sponsors seek to encourage us to organize the Korean Culture Festival events with grants, we will use it to have a Korean Culture Show for the understanding of Korean culture and arts,” said Kang. “We hope to foster friendship among university students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.”The Korean Culture Festival will be March 18, 7:00pm in D.Rich, and the Korean Movie Night will be on April 10th, 7:00pm at D.Rich.
