Buies Creek — Over 300 rising freshmen and transfer students attended the year’s first New Student Orientation session at Campbell University on Friday and Saturday, June 26-27.
In addition to registering for their fall classes, students were presented with information about academic preparation, Student Life opportunities and important student support services provided at Campbell.
Students were also able to meet with the deans and department heads to talk about prospective majors and with Residence Life staff members who spoke about the hundreds of on-campus activities planned for next year.
After the formal President’s Reception Friday evening in the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center, students and their parents were able to kick back and have some fun with a night of entertainment, including a magic show, movie presentation and ice cream from Sunni Skies.
Assistant Vice President for Admissions Jason Hall said the Orientation was a huge success.
“I am pleased with the teamwork put forth on this campus to make the weekend a pleasurable event for all involved,” said Hall. “Orientation allows students the opportunity to learn more about the University, become familiar with the campus, obtain their schedule and begin building their network of friends all while having a great time.”
A second group of students will be arriving for the next Orientation on July 10-11, held at the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center.
