BUIES CREEK — The Campbell University School of Education has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer online the Master of Education in elementary, middle grades (language arts, math, social studies), secondary grades (English, math, social studies), and K-12 (physical education).
Applications for the new online M.Ed. in elementary education program are now being accepted for the Fall 2013 semester. Application materials (transcripts, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation) and interview with the program coordinator must be received and completed by Aug. 1 to be considered for acceptance for the fall semester.
Applications for all online programs beginning in the Spring 2014 semester must be received by Nov. 29.
“Graduates from our many initial teacher licensure programs, including students completing alternative initial licensure programs at the graduate level, have been asking for an online master’s degree option due to accepting teaching positions that have taken them to work in schools all across the state and beyond,” said Sam Engel, assistant dean of the School of Education and coordinator of the school’s online programs. “While the School of Education continues to offer the traditional face to face evening graduate programs on the main campus, this new online option removes travel restrictions that have kept some students from attending Campbell University’s main campus in Buies Creek.”
