Casey Pearce becomes 1st Campbell student to receive Phi Eta Sigma scholarship

BUIES CREEK — Casey Pearce, a rising junior in psychology at Campbell University, has received a $1,000 Founders Fund Scholarship from Phi Eta Sigma, the nation’s largest and oldest honor society for first-year students in any discipline.

Pearce, a native of Four Oaks, North Carolina, is the first Campbell student to ever receive a scholarship from the honor society, and is one of just 67 PES members nationwide to receive one this year.

She will be the president of Campbell’s PES chapter in 2016-17 and was the treasurer this past year. Her other campus activities include serving as a student leader for the Campbell University Food Pantry, Shine Campus Ministry group, and the Psychology Club, of which she’ll be the secretary in 2016-17.

Students are eligible to join PES at the close of their first year of college if they have maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
