Christmas at Campbell, a musical celebration of the season

Buies Creek, N.C.—From the resounding peal of the carillon bells to the sacred “O Holy Night,” the Christmas at Campbell concert is a thrilling opener to the Christmas season. Free and open to the public, the concert is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. in Butler Chapel on the Campbell campus.

In addition to the 52-member University Choir, the concert will feature the voices of the Children’s Choir from Memorial Baptist Church and the Handbells from the First Baptist Church of Erwin. Taken from the scripture lessons of Luke, Matthew and Philippians, the program follows the life of Jesus from the Immaculate Conception to his death and resurrection, weaving traditional Christmas carols such as “Away in a Manger” with the works of classic composers G.F. Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach.

“The music and message of the concert is really a Christmas card to the whole community,” said Choral Director Dr. Phillip Morrow. “We want everyone to come and enjoy it.”
