Class of 2018 President elected to national emergency medicine student council

BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – Scott Bland, president of the Class of 2018, was elected as the 2016-2017 Southern Regional Representative of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident and Student Association (AAEM/RSA) Medical Student Council.

“AAEM/RSA advocates for protecting Emergency Medicine as a physician specialty that required board certification,” said Bland.  “I look forward to serving on the student council as a liaison between medical students in the southern region and the national organization.”

Bland will participate in regular AAEM/RSA student council conference calls and work to advance vision and mission of AAEM/RSA through events such as the Advocacy Day in June.

“We are thrilled to have so many of our students in leadership roles at the state and national levels,” said Mattie Bendall, executive director of student affairs.  “Scott is an example of how so many of our students are not only leaders on campus, but they also go the extra mile to become leaders and advocates for the medical profession – they make us Campbell Proud!”
