Sam Clinton was promoted to director of continuing education with Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (CPHS). In her new role, Clinton will be responsible for overseeing the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) office. Her key duties will include ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements, creating and implementing CPE programs, collaborating with stakeholders, coordinating and maintaining existing CPE activities and providing both on-site and remote support.
As the director, Clinton will work closely with the dean, the Office of Interprofessional Education and continuing education administrators across CPHS to organize high-quality educational events. Additionally, she will manage the CPE office and support staff, ensuring adherence to accreditation guidelines and enhancing program offerings.
Clinton joined Campbell in 2008 as coordinator and later advanced to assistant director of Continuing Education, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in CE/CME accreditation and medical meeting planning. She holds numerous certifications, including Medical Meeting Professional, Healthcare Meeting Compliance, and Quality Event Planner, and is a certified pharmacy technician. Her contributions include overseeing two successful ACPE Continuing Education self-studies for CPHS and serving as an ACPE accreditation field reviewer. Additionally, she was a member of the AOA and ACCME accreditation self-study committee for the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to joining Campbell, she served as the Director of Continuing Medical Education at the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.
