Coast to Coast: Pharmacy students, alumni match with residency or fellowship programs

“We are very proud of the 40 students and alumni who matched with a residency or fellowship program,” said Dr. Pamela U. Joyner, interim chair of Pharmacy Practice. “This achievement is a testament to their hard work and dedication and to the support they received from our faculty and staff.”

These Campbell University pharmacy graduates will specialize in areas such as pharmacotherapy, community pharmacy, health system administration and leadership, medical affairs, ambulatory care, investigational drugs and research, critical care, internal medicine, psychiatric care, acute care, emergency medicine, specialty pharmacy administration and leadership, and general pharmacy.

Jennah Badger (’22 PharmD/MSPH Candidate) commented, “I am excited to have matched with the New Mexico VA Health Care System and have the opportunity work with veterans and help that community. I know that the knowledge and skills I have gained while at Campbell and within North Carolina will allow for me to practice to the top of my license. I do plan to further my education and complete a residency in psychiatry and stay within the VA system.”

Their post-graduate training will continue in 14 states including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. More than half of these PharmDs will continue their training in North Carolina with 21 graduates matching in the Tar Heel State.

“When I found out that I matched with Gallup Indian Medical Center, I felt extreme excitement and motivation,” said Caitlyn Conway (’22 PharmD Candidate). “Campbell prepared me to serve others, while valuing the rural and underserved community. I have always longed to serve as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service. Although my career is just getting started, I look forward to serving in a rural area and expanding on the foundation that I’ve built at Campbell.”
