CPHS celebrates faculty promotions and tenure

The Campbell University Board of Trustees voted to approve promotions and tenure for three faculty members in the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. Dr. Karlyn Green was promoted to associate professor, Dr. Wei Lei was granted tenure, and Dr. Andrew Muzyk was promoted to professor and granted tenure.

Dr. Karlyn Green promoted to associate professor

Green joined Campbell’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program as a full-time faculty member in 2022 after previously teaching in the program as an adjunct faculty member. She is board-certified in both cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy and orthopedic physical therapy.

Green brings experience from adult inpatient care at Duke University Hospital to her work as a physical therapy educator. She earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St. Mary’s College, Los Angeles, Calif. and a bachelor’s degree in exercise biology from the University of California, Davis.

Dr. Wei Lei granted tenure

Lei joined Campbell in 2025 as an associate professor. He teaches pharmacology across the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, from introductory coursework to graduate laboratory instruction and integrated pharmacotherapy courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.

His research interests include molecular pharmacology, drug discovery for chronic pain, and the relationship between nutrition and immune function. He has mentored pharmacy, graduate, and undergraduate students in research. Lei earned his doctorate from the University of Missouri and completed postdoctoral training in pharmacology at the University of Arizona.

Dr. Andrew Muzyk promoted to professor and granted tenure

Muzyk joined Campbell’s Department of Pharmacy Practice in 2007. He directs courses in neurology and psychiatry and in health outcomes and informatics for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. He also teaches in Campbell’s physician assistant and nursing programs.

A clinical pharmacist in internal medicine and psychiatry at Duke University Hospital, Muzyk supervises Campbell pharmacy students during clinical rotations in both areas. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University and a master’s degree in health professions education from the University of Michigan. He completed a specialty residency in psychiatric pharmacy at UNC Medical Center.

Green, Lei, and Muzyk exemplify how deeply Campbell’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences faculty are invested in their professions and in the students who will carry them forward. They bring that passion for education to the classroom, the research lab, and clinical rotations, helping students connect what they learn at Campbell with the work they will do as health professionals.
