Dean Essary Gives Keynote Address at 2011 Women Leaders in Business Seminar

RALEIGH, N.C. – On Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, Melissa A. Essary, Dean of Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, presented the keynote address at the 2011 Women Leaders in Business Seminar sponsored byWard and Smith, P.A., a statewide law firm that offers a variety of educational seminars and conferences throughout the year.

Dean Essary’s message, “Don’t Underestimate Your Ability to Lead,” was heard by more than 100 women business leaders attending the seminar. She spoke to the group about leadership strategies that are universal, but also are particularly helpful in challenging times. She listed optimism, knowing you will make a difference, inspiring a shared vision, and grit as attributes of a strong leader.

The event was held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, N.C. Throughout the day, panelists presented on the topics of branding and marketing, estate and family-law planning, and federal funding for minority-owned businesses.
