BUIES CREEK — Abbi Davis of Fremont and Tiffany Brown of Rutherfordton, both graduates of North Carolina State University, were announced this week as the winners of Campbell University Divinity School’s 2012 full-tuition Honors Scholarship Competition.
Davis, 2012 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, wants to go into youth ministry. She is a member of Fremont United Methodist Church. Brown has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Education and is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Rutherfordton.
This scholarship will provide for the full cost of tuition for either of the master-level divinity degrees offered at Campbell.
In addition, three incoming students have been awarded Honors Scholarships, which amount to 75 percent of tuition costs. They are:
· Josiah Antill of Littleton, a graduate of Chowan University with a Bachelor of Science in Music, who is a member of Lake Gaston Baptist Church, Littleton
· Katie Medlin of Durham, a graduate of East Carolina University in Social Work and a member of Yates Baptist Church, Durham; and
· Thomas Farrow of Clinton, a graduate of North Carolina Central University in Business Administration and pastor of First Baptist Church of Clinton.
Dr. Andy Wakefield, Dean of the Divinity School, recently expressed his enthusiasm for this opportunity to bring in students who are not only fine scholars, but who are strongly committed to their call to be used by God as well.
“I am excited to welcome students who exemplify excellence in academics and in ministry to Campbell Divinity School,” Wakefield said.
