Divinity School Teaches Students How To Baptize

A popular feature of Dean Michael Cogdill’s Life and Work of the Minister class is a trip to the Campbell University natatorium for a practicum in the proper methods of baptism. “Baptizing new converts to the Christian faith is such a wonderful joy for every minister. We want to give our students a vision of this great part of their future ministry as well as making certain they are trained properly in the correct ways to handle such a holy action of the church,” stated Cogdill. “When we opened the Divinity School in 1996, the most frequent questions I was asked were if the students would learn how to baptize, conduct the Lord’s Supper, and how to properly officiate at weddings and funerals. Campbell Divinity School is excellent in this kind of equipping and training for ministers,” added Cogdill.
