Dr. Lori Langdon voted ‘Best Pediatrician in Harnett County’

Dr. Lori Langdon, clinical chair of Pediatrics at the Campbell University medical school, was voted Best Pediatrician in Harnett County for the fourth consecutive year.

The Daily Record of Dunn, which sponsors the community-wide contest, announced the honor in the latest edition of “Best of Harnett County.” Readers of the newspaper vote for their local favorites in numerous categories.

“I hope that my patients and families know how much I care about them and appreciate that honor,” Langdon said. “It’s a pleasure to teach medical students right here in Harnett County how to care for children and their families.”

Langdon started work at the Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. All clinical chairs are required to continue seeing patients in their chosen fields. Langdon works Premiere Pediatrics in Lillington two days a week and at the med school three days a week.

Langdon said the recognition is a “genuine honor.”

“I always say that patients do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. We hope that when the students have preceptors in rural areas, the students can picture themselves practicing one day in an underserved area,” she said.

“Working in these places has challenges and triumphs, and the medical school is working to address the disparities of healthcare that persist in these rural counties”

Langdon is also vice-chair of the Harnett County Board of Health, serves on the board of the Harnett Health Foundation and is medical director for Cypress View Children’s Home. She is active in the N.C. Pediatrics Society and serves as Pediatric and Adolescent faculty for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

At the med school she serves as faculty adviser for the Pediatrics Club, the Med/Peds Club and the Christian Medical/Dental Association; she was voted Preceptor of the Year for the Harnett Region in 2024.

Active on social media and often quoted by local news outlets, Langdon says she enjoys speaking to church, school and civic groups.
