RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law School Registrar Dr. Connie Shipman has been elected to the National Network of Law School Officers (NNLSO) Board of Directors. Dr. Shipman, who will serve a two-year term on the board, was elected at the organization’s annual conference in Phoenix, Ariz.
“The NNLSO community has been an asset in the acclimation of my role as a law school registrar,” said Dr. Shipman. “I therefore consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as a board member and further the organization’s purpose now and in the years to come.”
The NNLSO is a nonprofit, professional organization designed for the educational and professional development of all law school officers. Primarily, NNLSO addresses the concerns and issues of registrars and admissions officers. Although NNLSO is the only professional organization for law school registrars, it encourages and welcomes all department officials with the goal to facilitate and promote intra-departmental relations within a law school community.
Dr. Shipman arrived at Campbell Law in June 2014 after serving as the campus registrar for the Durham, N.C. ITT-Technical Institute campus. Prior to that she served in a variety of roles for DeVry University over the course of several years, including visiting professor, supervisor of registrar services, team lead of new student administrative services and registrar services, team lead of new student registration, and academic records coordinator. Dr. Shipman has also served as a graduate program liaison and program support associate at East Carolina University, project coordinator for Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County, a consultant to the Washington County Child Advocacy Council, program director for the Bertie County Partnership for Children, and adjunct professor at Martin Community College.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shipman has worked collaboratively to raise more than $325,000 in grants related to educational opportunities. She has also been actively involved in several community service organizations in both North Carolina and Illinois, holding leadership positions with the Koinonia Christian Center and Guardian ad Litem in N.C. She is passionate about higher education and advocacy against child abuse and neglect.
Dr. Shipman holds a B.S. and M.P.A. from East Carolina University. She completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in June 2013.
