Duke economist to speak at Campbell

Buis Creek—Dr. Michael C. Munger, chairman of the Department of Political Science at Duke University will speak at Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business on Thursday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. in Lynch Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Munger will discuss the beliefs of the Founding Fathers and our responsibilities as heirs of that tradition in his presentation titled, “Why the U.S. Is Not a Democracy and Shouldn’t Be.”

Munger received his Ph.D. in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., in 1984 and worked as a staff economist at the Federal Trade Commission during the first term of the Reagan Administration. He came to Duke in 1997 where he was named chair of the Department of Political Science in 2000. Munger is a current candidate for North Carolina governor.
