Eller recognized for service to Campbell Divinity School

Neal Edwin Eller Jr. was presented the 2006 Distinguished Service Award from the Campbell University Divinity School on July 19, 2006. Eller, a native of Pensacola, Fla., has served with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina since 1991, most recently as leader of the Vital Ministry Leadership Community. Previously, he was Church Music Associate and then director of the Church Music Department. Prior to coming to the Baptist State Convention, he served as Minister of Music at Winter Park Baptist Church, Wilmington; First Baptist Church, Hazelwood; First Baptist Church, Jacksonville; and David Boulevard Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas. He is a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, Raleigh.In August 2002, he joined the Campbell University Divinity School faculty as an adjunct professor, advising the Advanced Worship and Spiritual Formation class which leads the weekly worship. He also directed the Divinity School Ensemble.”Neal is an excellent musician in his own right but flourishes as he watches others develop and use their God-given talents,” says Dr. Michael G. Cogdill, dean of the Divinity School. “He is a worship leader who, instead of drawing attention to himself, leads us to the cross. His life is a model of Christ-Centered, Bible-Based and Ministry-Focused service.” Eller is the third person to receive the outstanding service award from the school.
