RALEIGH, N.C. – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that Everett Gaskins Hancock LLP will financially support Campbell Law student advocates at the American Association for Justice regional competition, March 9-12, at the Wake County Courthouse. If the group advances, they will compete at the national competition, March 30-April 2, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Last April the firm sponsored Campbell Law’s national championship winning team at the South Texas Mock Trial Challenge.
“Everett Gaskins Hancock has been extremely supportive of Campbell Law for many years, not only financially but also with regard to engaging, mentoring and supporting our students,” said Leonard. “We are appreciative of their desire to help nurture future Campbell lawyers by aiding our advocacy program financially.”
The American Association of Justice (AAJ) seeks to inspire excellence in trial advocacy through training and education for both law students and practicing attorneys. The Association accomplishes this goal in part by sponsoring the National Student Trial Advocacy Competition, an annual nationwide mock trial competition for all law schools across the country. The competition is an exceptional opportunity for law students to develop and practice their trial advocacy skills before distinguished members of the bar and bench. The competition utilizes a civil or criminal case involving current legal issues.
