Buies Creek, N.C.-Sara Beth Felts, of Fayetteville, N.C., was named an Outstanding Student of the Campbell University School of Education at a commissioning ceremony held Friday, Feb. 26. Felts, who will graduate with a minor in social work this May, plans to pursue her Master of Social Work degree.
“Felts stated that she has grown both personally and professionally during her studies in social work.
“I have developed an appreciation for at-risk populations and the policies that serve them,” she said.
In the process of completing an internship with the Guardian ad Litem program of the North Carolina Eleventh Judicial District in which she advocates for at-risk children, Felts has discovered her life’s work. On completion of her graduate degree, she plans to pursue a career in child and family services, eventually becoming an administrator of a child welfare case management agency.
The School of Education commissioned 83 graduating seniors in the fields of education, psychology and social work at the ceremony on Friday.
