Business students move on to FBLA nationals

The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate chapter was recognized for their outstanding performance — individually and as a collective — at the 69th Annual State Leadership Conference, held April 20-22 in Charlotte.

Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) is the largest business career and technical student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps more than 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. As an organization, its mission is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.

During this year’s conference, the LFSB chapter received recognition as the fifth largest chapter in the state and was honored with a bronze medal for their increase in chapter membership in the Central Region.

At the conference, members competed in a variety of subject areas in multiple formats: online exams, prepared cases and impromptu presentations. The students competed against a variety of North Carolina schools including UNC Chapel Hill and Western Carolina University.

The Campbell team made us proud with their performances:

  • Aaron Katzenberger – first place in business communication
  • Devin Lee, Jennifer Piccione, and Israel Graham – first place in business presentation
  • Gillian Kitchings & Elizabeth Phillips – first place in digital media
  • Joseph Martingale – first place in financial case
  • Carter Wray Simpson – second place in information management
  • Sara Claire Taylor – second place in marketing concepts and fourth place in sales presentation
  • Jennifer Piccione – third place in job interview
  • Samuel Passiglia and Keton York – third place in website design

Eight Campbell business students qualified to represent the North Carolina state chapter in the national competition being held at the 2023 FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia this summer.

Chapter secretary Aaron Katzenberger was also recognized as Who’s Who in FBLA Collegiate and will represent North Carolina at the National Leadership Conference this summer.

Dr. Edward Fubara, associate dean for academic affairs and faculty director of FBLA, congratulated the team, saying, “I am so proud of the performance of our team. They competed admirably, earning multiple awards. They also attended workshops, built relationships with their peers from other schools, and represented Campbell well in all of their interactions. I look forward to more victories at the national conference this summer.”
