Final Campbell Forward events set for Buies Creek, Wilmington

President Dr. William Downs has laid out his vision for a bright future at Campbell University during the first four stops of his Campbell Forward tour in Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Raleigh and Fayetteville.

On Tuesday evening, Downs will bring that message back home to Buies Creek to guests at the Oscar N. Harris Student Union. The tour will close on Nov. 6 in Wilmington. Registration is still open for both events

Guests at both events can expect to hear Downs share his views on what is working and what needs to change at Campbell, in addition to a preview of his strategic plan and upcoming fundraising campaigns.

“Our future is one that prioritizes enrollment growth, continued expansion of our world-class graduate and professional programs, extension of the Campbell brand to one that is nationally recognized and respected, and a reinvigoration of the faith foundation that has served Campbell so well for 138 years,” Downs said. “Just as important as my remarks are the ideas and input I gather from those in attendance. I’m always learning through listening, and I see [this tour] as another essential goal of our visits across the state.”

At previous stops, Downs has addressed the need for getting the word out about Campbell, the importance of alumni support and creating more connections with surrounding communities to improve Campbell’s presence in those areas. At each stop, stories have been shared by area alumni and hosts of each event.

“We see these events as a bridge between our past and future,” said Vice President for Advancement John Latteri. “We hope our guests walk away with a renewed sense of pride, a deeper understanding of President Downs’ vision and a clear invitation to be part of the journey ahead. These gatherings are designed to celebrate our collective legacy, spark new ideas and strengthen the bonds that keep our Campbell community thriving.”
