Fourth #CampbellTAGDay creates buzz on campus

Campbell University celebrated its fourth Thank-A-Giver Day (TAG Day) on Thursday.

The annual event occurs every year during the week leading up to the University’s Homecoming celebrations to acknowledge donor generosity that helped make Campbell what it is today.

“This event is an educational component for our students,” said Jason Gipe, assistant vice president for institutional advancement. “It is important for our students to learn about the people who make their Campbell experience special.”

TAG Day involved tagging more than 400 buildings and items with bright orange tags (and one special golden tag) acknowledging things that have been given to Campbell. Tagged items included offices, campus landmarks, sports facilities and classrooms.

Student volunteers and staff members hosted “thank you” booths for students to stop by throughout the day and write thank you notes that will be sent to donors and friends of the University.

Additionally, gratitude lit up Campbell University’s social media presence using #CampbellTAGDay. Students, alumni, faculty and staff shared photos, videos and sentiments with a message of thankfulness. Students sharing a photo and the hashtag were entered for a chance to win an Amazon Echo Dot, while students sharing videos thanking donors were entered for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship.
