Fuquay-Varina artist’s work on display through March 23

BUIES CREEK – The E.P. Sauls Gallery at Campbell University will host a reception and exhibition for Fuquay-Varina artist Cindy Morefield, wife of associate English professor Dr. Ken Morefield, this month.

Morefield’s art – which she says “explores the tensions between organic and geometric, spontaneous and planned, and handmade and mechanical – will be on display through March 23 in the gallery, located in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Building.

A reception is scheduled for 11 a.m. March 13, and a workshop will be held at 2 p.m. on March 15 in the graphic design studio, located in Room 252.

A Bristol, Tenn., native, Morefield earned her degree in studio art from the University of Mary Washington and an MFA in painting from Northern Illinois University. She has also worked as a college art instructor, private instructor, human resources clerk, secretary, bookseller, barista and library assistant along the way.

The gallery will be open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Admission is free and open to all.
